And it only has one, ridiculous step.

I spend 90% of my time writing fiction.

Being a fairly seasoned fiction writer does come with some perks — especially the one where you can tell when something you’ve just drafted isn’t all that good.

But we get stuck once in a while.

When you’re wondering about a particular scene or even an entire piece, there’s something you can do to test whether the writing is working.

And it’s the weirdest thing I do every day.

Strange Storytelling

Companies like Disney, Illumination, and Pixar have always had a way to bring all ages together.

Especially in animation, they make funny, silly, and heartwarming films.

And while we love princesses and teenagers with magic abilities, these beloved animated films also have a different subset that makes these companies bank.

A movie about talking cars.

A movie about talking planes.

Movies about talking fish, penguins, toys, aliens, bugs, lions, yellow round things that are almost human (You don’t even know if I’m talking about emojis or Minions here, do you? Me neither).
