It’s hard to pay attention.

To anything.

Long movies, videos longer than two minutes, an article that you want to read but does it really say thirteen minutes?

Since most content is bite-sized, it’s easier to consume.

We may be focusing on an app or a TV show for a long time, but we typically consume tons of short videos, tiny captions, and series with shorter episodes and tiny, eight-episode seasons (what happened to our 23-episode seasons?! I miss them dearly).

We can get our attention spans back, and we can even eliminate mindless consumption in the process.

Let’s get into it.

1. Start Small

I’ve been very into DIY projects in my house lately, and my entire Reels page on Facebook is devoted to that same content.

When I’m watching someone redo their floors or decorate a coffee table, I inevitably look to see if I can skip through the video and get to the end result.

The first small change I made was not letting myself do that.
